Jerry Blavet Illness:- Jerry Blavat, who is also known as “The Big Boss with the Hot Sauce,” and “The Geator with the Heater,” is an American DJ (disk jockey) and performer. He has been a vital influence in promoting Oldies music on the radio.

DJ Jerry Blavet passed away on 20 January 2023 because of complications from myasthenia gravis at the age of 82.

He died at Jefferson-Methodist Hospital on Friday morning. His death news was confirmed by his close friend A.F. Mattia and Keely Stahl.

He was suffering from an autoimmune neuromuscular disease and other health problems. 

According to his family statement, 

‘Life is precious, and I am happy. And when I am happy, I want the world to be happy.’ … His love for Philadelphia only superseded his love of music. He was proud of this great city, and nothing made him prouder than the impact the music from Philadelphia made on the world.”

In recent months, Jerry canceled his concerts at his Margate, N.J., club, Memories because of having painful shoulder injuries. He scheduled his annual oldies all-star concert for 28 January 2023. 

Jerry Blavat was a Philadelphia icon, who attained local fame hosting live dances, and leading to his own independent radio show, on which he launched many acts in the 1960s to a wide audience, including the 4 Seasons and The Isley Brothers.
