Walsh-Jennings plays beach volleyball professionally on the AVP Tour in the U.S. and on the FIVB World Tour in other countries. She played with Misty May-Treanor for most of her career. Together, they were one of the most successful beach teams in AVP history. May and Walsh teamed up on the beach circuit in 2001, and by the end of the season, they were ranked number five in the world. In 2002, the team got to the top of the list. In 2003, they won all eight tournaments they entered and a then-record 90 straight games, including the world championships, where they beat the reigning world champions, Brazil.

In 2008, May-Treanor and Walsh won 112 straight matches before losing in the AVP Crocs Cup Shootout in Ohio to Olympic teammates Elaine Youngs and Nicole Branagh, who also played in the Olympics. At that point, the two had won 19 titles in a row.

After Misty May-Treanor left the team in 2012, Walsh teamed up with April Ross. When she won the FIVB Grand Slam in Xiamen, China, she broke the record for most wins in a professional volleyball player’s career. Walsh won her 113th title with this win, breaking May-record Treanor’s of 110 titles. Walsh and Ross beat Taiana Lima and Talita Da Rocha Antunes of Brazil 21–14, 17–21, 15–12. Since they started working together, the Americans have won three titles in five competitions.

She and her partner April Ross took part in the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour’s Long Beach, California Grand Slam. Carolina Horta Maximo/Carol/Ana Patricia Silva Ramos/Ana Patrcia Brazil (21–17, 21–19), Humana-Paredes/Pischke Canada (21–16, 21–17), and Maria Antonelli/Lili Brazil (21–17, 21–19) were all beaten by the pair (21 – 19, 18 – 21, 15 – 13).

Walsh Jennings and Ross beat Chantal Laboureur and Julia Sude of Germany in a semifinal match on August 27, 2016. They won in straight sets (21 – 17, 21 – 16). Walsh Jennings/Ross won the gold medal by beating Liliana Fernández Steiner and Elsa Baquerizo McMillan of Spain in the finals (21–16, 21–16).

At the World Tour Finals in Toronto, they are playing in Pool A. With a 2-0 record, they are in first place and move on to the quarter-finals.

Walsh-Jennings said in 2017 that she would not sign a new contract with AVP because she did not agree with the organization. Ross agreed to stay with the AVP. She and Walsh-Jennings stopped working together. Walsh-Jennings then got back together with Nicole Branagh, with whom she had played for a short time when May-Treanor took a break from beach volleyball in 2010.

In October 2018, Walsh-Jennings said that she would be working with Brooke Sweat to try to get to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Brooke Sweat is a specialist on defense. Walsh was cleared of any wrongdoing after being retested, so he was able to keep playing.

Walsh and Misty May-Treanor won the gold medal in women’s beach volleyball at the 2004 Summer Olympics. They didn’t lose a single set in their seven games, so they didn’t lose a single set.

Walsh Jennings and May-Treanor won another gold medal at the Olympics on August 21, 2008. In the final match, they beat the top-seeded Chinese team. (They would have been first-seeded, but home rule put China in the top spot.) In the last two Olympics, May-Treanor and Walsh did not lose a single set. Their last game made it 108 games in a row where they didn’t lose.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Walsh and May-Treanor competed together for the last time. After winning the first and second rounds, they went on to win 32 sets in a row at the Olympics before losing the first set to Austria in a preliminary round. They still won the match, though, 17-21, 21-8, 15-10. In the semi-finals, they played China and beat Xue Chen and Zhang Xi 22-20, 22-20. This put them in the finals. In an all-USA final, they beat Jen Kessy and April Ross by scores of 21-16 and 21-16 to win the gold medal. With this win, Walsh and May-Treanor joined a small group of athletes who have won the gold medal at three straight Olympics.

Walsh-Jennings worked with April Ross at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. They made it to the semi-finals, but lost to gatha Bednarczuk and Bárbara Seixas of Brazil in two tough sets (22-20, 21–18). Walsh-Jennings and Ross played the top-ranked team from Brazil, Larissa Franca and Talita Antunes, for the bronze medal. Many people thought this would be the gold medal match, but Larissa and Talita lost to Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst of Germany in the semifinals. This put the two best teams in the bronze medal match. Walsh-Jennings and Ross lost the first set and were down by three points in the second before coming back to win, 17–21, 21–17, 15–9.
