Manish says, “As an actor, I like playing both good and bad characters. But I choose to be the bad guy because people like me better that way. Even though I was the bad guy in Naagin, I had different sides. Sometimes I was funny, and sometimes I was scary. As an actor, you need to be able to play many different roles. People like to think of me as bad, so why not?”

What, in his opinion, are the most important traits of a villain? “First, the way you look. I think my eyes say more than what I say, which makes me a very convincing villain. I learned how to play these kinds of roles by working behind the camera. I’ve never been to a play. I never went to school to learn how to act. You can’t learn how to act. You have to want to do it. I improvise a lot. I keep on changing my body language. I never stick to the lines I write.
