Rapper PnB Rock was shot dead during a robbery at LA Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles restaurant
PnB Rock was shot dead Monday in a robbery at a Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in south Los Angeles, police said.
Los Angeles Police Commissioner Kelly Muniz told the Los Angeles Times that around 1:00 p.m. Monday there was a shooting at the restaurant, which is located at Main Street and Manchester Avenue. Muniz did not confirm the victim’s name.
The 30-year-old rapper, whose real name is Rakim Allen, was geotagged by his girlfriend in a social media post, which was subsequently deleted from Instagram.

A suspect in the incident pulled out a firearm and ordered PnB Rock to hand over items, Muniz said, adding the suspect “shot the victim and ran out the side door to a getaway car and then fled the parking lot.”
Insiders told the newspaper that the musician was targeted because he was wearing jewelry at the time.
The shooting victim was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead at 1:59 p.m., Muniz told the outlet.
LAPD police sources said investigators were examining security footage of the facility, in addition to nearby businesses, to identify the suspect in the fatal shooting and whether they left the scene on foot or in a vehicle.
The musician was seen on stage in Anaheim, California in August 2019
The actor was spotted out in LA in November 2019
Rock first took to the stage in 2015 with the song Fleek and went on to collaborate with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Meek Mill, YFN Lucci and Chance the Rapper.
He found commercial success with the single Selfish, which peaked at number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 2016.
He had released his last single “Luv Me Again” on September 2nd.
A number of notable names took to Twitter to mourn Monday’s tragic death.
Offset wrote, “Pray for PnB Rock… the man has family and kids smh god bless the man,” while Juice Wayne said, “PnB Rock really died because of the greed of bummy a**n*****.” Disgusting. Rest in peace for the fallen.
Another user wrote: “The PNB rock life is worth a lot more than money and ice cream. we will never learn.’
