Who is Kim Namjoon?
Kim Nam-joon, professionally known as RM (formerly Rap Monster), is a South Korean record producer, singer-songwriter, and rapper. He serves as the leader of the South Korean boy band, BTS. In 2015, RM released his first solo mixtape, RM. He followed this up in 2018 with his second mixtape, Mono, which climbed to number 26 on the US Billboard 200 chart, becoming the highest-charting album by a Korean soloist at that time. RM officially debuted as a solo artist in 2022 with his studio album Indigo, featuring contributions from Anderson .Paak and Erykah Badu. Indigo peaked at number three on the Billboard 200, making it the highest-charting album ever by a Korean soloist. RM has collaborated with various artists, including Lil Nas X, Wale, Primary, Fall Out Boy, Younha, Warren G, Gaeko, Krizz Kaliko, and MFBTY.

According to various Korean media reports, BTS member RM, also known as Kim Namjoon, is once again a victim of a privacy breach. An employee of the national railway operator Korail is under scrutiny for accessing RM’s personal information multiple times and sharing it with a friend. The reports suggest that the employee has been accessing Kim Namjoon’s ticket information, as well as other sensitive details such as his address and contact number since 2019. The employee had the ability to do so due to their IT role within the company.

An unauthorized individual has accessed BTS member Jungkook’s personal information, claiming to have dating details to share with fans. Furthermore, reports suggest that RM, also known as Kim Namjoon, has had his personal information unlawfully accessed 18 times within the past three years. National railway operator Korail carried out an investigation and found the employee responsible for accessing Kim Namjoon’s information. The employee has since been suspended, and it was revealed that they did it out of curiosity. Korean media outlets such as SBS and AllKpop have reported on this incident.
In 2009, RM took part in an audition for Big Deal Records with Samuel Seo, making it through the first round, but ultimately failing the second round due to forgetting the lyrics. After the audition, rapper Sleepy exchanged contact information with RM and later mentioned him to Pdogg, a producer at Big Hit Entertainment.In 2010, Sleepy reached out to RM and encouraged him to audition for Big Hit Entertainment’s CEO Bang Si-hyuk. RM was only 16 years old at the time, and he accepted the offer without informing his parents. Bang and Pdogg started to form a hip hop group that eventually evolved into the widely known BTS idol group.
